April’s travelers dropped 99.9% over the same month last year in Japan due to the pandemic that put a stop to almost all travel across the world. According to the oldest English-language newspaper in Japan, The Japan Times, the country has in plan to propose foreigners a very advantageous deal: to pay half the travel cost for each traveler.

The program, created by the Japan Tourism Agency could start in July if the coronavirus infections subside.
More details and which criteria will be used to select beneficiaries are currently unknown, but it is worth keeping it in mind if someone plans to travel this summer to Japan.
